چکیده

Previously we have developed a free boundary model for local thermal coagulation induced by laser light absorption when the tissue region affected directly by laser light is sufficiently small and heat diffusion into the surrounding tissue governs the necrosis growth. In the present paper surveying the obtained results we state the point of view on the necrosis formation under these conditions as the basis of an individual laser therapy mode exhibiting specific properties. In particular, roughly speaking, the size of the resulting necrosis domain is determined by the physical characteristics of the tissue and its response to local heating, and by the applicator form rather than the treatment duration and the irradiation power. 1 What the heat diffusion limited tissue coagulation is: a phenomenon and a theoretical

Self-localization of laser induced tumour coagulation limited by heat diffusion through active tissue.

We analyse necrosis growth due to thermal coagulation induced by laser light absorption and limited by heat diffusion into the surrounding live tissue. The tissue is assumed to contain a tumour in the undamaged tissue where the blood perfusion rate does not change during the action. By contrast, normal tissue responds strongly to an increase in the tissue temperature and the blood perfusion rat...

Analysis of the theory of thermal damage in biological tissues caused by Laser beam

Introduction: In laser surgery, the laser beam can evaporate and cut the tissue like a small surgical knife when the tissue temperature is heated to 100 degrees Celsius. a complete understanding of the distribution of damage in both pathologic tissue and surrounding tissue is necessary. Although the test is the most realistic solution for treating medical problems, for this rea...

Slow intramural heating with diffused laser light: A unique method for deep myocardial coagulation.

BACKGROUND Catheter ablation of postinfarction ventricular tachycardia (VT) may be limited by insufficient myocardial coagulation or excessive endocardial or epicardial damage. We propose that volumetric heating restricted to intramural sites may improve the outcome and safety of this procedure, especially if delivered at rates that enhance heat conduction and forestall adverse tissue changes. ...

Laser thermal therapy: utility of interstitial fluence monitoring for locating optical sensors.

Multipoint optical fluence measurements can potentially be used to detect coagulation-induced changes in optical propagation during interstitial laser thermal therapy. Estimating the dimensions of coagulation using on-line optical monitoring, which is applicable to treatments where the tip of the source fibre is not precharred, may be limited by the accuracy of the placement of optical sensors ...

Comparison of Soft Tissue Thermal Changes Induced by Three Types of Diode Lasers at 810, 940, and 980nm Wavelengths

Background and Aim: Diode laser is a great choice for soft tissue surgery. The diode laser is partially absorbed by hard dental tissues, making it safe for soft tissue surgery. This study aimed to compare the tissue thermal changes induced by three types of diode lasers at 810, 940, and 980nm wavelengths. Materials and Methods: In this in-vitro experimental study, using a diode laser device (c...
